## Overview
Grain lets MCP agents run SQL queries through safe, visible tools, restricted to read-only SQL by default.

## Install
`curl -fsSL https://grain.tools/install.sh | sh` (Windows: `irm https://grain.tools/install.ps1 | iex`). MCP clients run `grain --stdio`.

## When to use this
Reach for this when your AI coding assistant (like Claude Desktop, Cursor, or Copilot) needs to run or inspect SQL against a real database without you leaving your editor, or when you want to see the exact statement the agent ran rather than trust its summary.
